Every year I take a trip with my family to the Big House. That’s what they call the stadium where the Michigan Wolverines football team plays. They call it that because it is the biggest stadium in the country. But it is not the biggest stadium in the world. Here are the biggest stadiums in the world and a little bit about them.

  1. Rungrado 1st of May Stadium in North Korea is the biggest stadium in the world. It holds 114,000 people and it is used for football matches by the North Korea National football team and also for festival performances. It’s 51 acres big and opened in 1989. I don’t think I will be visiting this stadium since it is in North Korea and not many people visit North Korea.
  2. The Big House in Ann Arbor, Michigan is the 2nd biggest stadium in the world. It holds 109,901 people. It was built in 1927 so it was there for a long time already when my dad went to Michigan for college.
  3. Beaver Stadium in University Park, Pennsylvania is the 3rd biggest stadium in the world. It is the stadium on the campus of Penn State University. The Nittany Lions college football team plays there. It was built in 1909 and holds 106,572 people.
  4. Ohio Stadium, also known as the Horseshoe, is the 4th biggest stadium in the world. It is in Columbus, Ohio on the campus of Ohio State University and it is where the Ohio State Buckeyes college football team plays. It was built in 1922 and holds 104,944 people.
  5. Kyle Field at Texas A&M University is the 5th largest stadium in the world. It is the home of the Texas A&M Aggies football team. It was built in 1904 and holds 102,733 people.

I can’t wait to go back to the Big House next year for another football game. Even if it’s not the biggest stadium in the world, it’s definitely my favorite.
