This week we are interviewing a professional championship bodybuilder named Shaun Clarida. I didn’t really know anything about bodybuilding before I started doing research on Mr. Clarida. But it turns out that bodybuilding is a really popular sport with a long history.

In 1946, the Weider brothers created the IFBB which stands for the International Federation of Body Builders. In 1965 they started the Mr. Olympia contest. The winner of Mr. Olympia is usually thought of as the world’s best male bodybuilder.

Professional bodybuilders line up and do poses for a panel of judges. They are ranked on things like muscularity and conditioning. I looked at a lot of pictures of bodybuilders and they all look very strong.  Here are a few of the bodybuilders who are thought of as the best in history.

Arnold Schwarzenegger: He started bodybuilding when he was just 15 and he won Mr. Olympia 7 times. He was one of the most popular bodybuilders ever. He became a movie star and the Governor of California.

Shawn Ray: He was known as Mr. Symmetry because his body muscle was perfectly balanced on both sides.

Lee Haney: He won Mr. Olympia 8 times because of his 8 pack abs and his enormous size and detail.

Ronnie Coleman: the size of his back muscles blew everyone away. He won Mr. Olympia 8 years in a row, which is not surprising when you see his muscles.

I usually feel pretty big and strong but when I meet Mr. Clarida I will probably feel tiny. I can’t wait for the interview and I hope you will all tune in to hear from an awesome pro.
