Get ready Bleacher Boy fans!   This week’s Athlete of the Week goes to…..

Lucas is 13 years old and is an 8th grader at Bala Cynwyd Middle School in Bala Cynwyd, Pennsylvania.   This baseball phenom loves the sport and has proven to be super versatile and can play all over the field.

Lucas plays travel baseball for The Philadelphia Bell Ringers and also plays ball for his school’s team.  He takes his training seriously and focuses on batting at the cage and even working drills off the tee.  All that practice payed off…check this out!  Lucas made the Little League World Series Baseball Camp All Star TEAM and went 2-2 and had 3 RBI’s!!  Thats awesome and shows serious dedication.

Lucas knows there is always room to improve as an athlete and his goals this year are to improve his batting average at the plate and keep pushing his way higher in the batting lineup.  No doubt that extra cage work will come in handy.

When he’s not playing baseball, you can find Lucas cheering for the Philadelphia Phillies.  His favorite athlete is Giancarlo Stanton because he is blown away by how he crushes the ball.  #bombs

This Athlete of the Week really appreciates what sports can do for him.  Lucas says he loves playing sports because it lets him meet and compete with kids from all over.  He also says that you can learn a lot of important life lessons from playing sports.  We couldn’t agree more and we think you are pretty amazing for saying that.  We always ask each other “Where will sports take you?”  It looks like sports has taken you to some great places and we can’t wait to watch your career grow.

Thanks for sharing your story with us, Lucas.  The Bleacher Boys agree you definitely deserve to be Athlete of the Week.  Good luck to you and The Bell Ringers!   Welcome to the huddle.
