Hello sports fans! This is Joe Cogan and I am this week’s guest blogger for The Bleacher Boys. I am 10 years old and a fifth grader at Maugham Elementary School in Tenafly, New Jersey. Baseball is my passion. I LOVE to watch and to play it. That is why I’m so excited that the World Series is almost here.

I will start off by saying that I’m not taking sides in this year’s playoffs because the
Philadelphia Phillies (my favorite team) is not playing in the postseason. The team that I think will win the World Series this year is the LA Dodgers. Calm down Yankee fans, I will explain. First off, the Dodgers finished with an outstanding 104 wins which was the best record in the MLB. They also have one of the best pitchers in the league – Clayton Kershaw. Stats wise, he had one of the best seasons for a pitcher this year with an astonishing 2.31 ERA which was better than his overall career average. He also had 22 starts and 18 wins which was tied for 1st in wins. He also had 202 strikeouts which was the 16th best in the league. The Dodgers can count on him to pitch a great game for them. Secondly, they have Cody Bellinger, a promising young outfielder that has been a star rookie for the Dodgers this season. Lastly, they have Yasiel Puig, who plays right field and who has always been a
reliable asset to this great team. This Dodgers team has a major shot at the title.

However, you can never count out the Yankees. Although they are facing a tough matchup
against the Houston Astros, they still have a chance at a comeback. Watch out if their star Aaron Judge starts hitting baseballs out of the park. When he gets hot, they will be a dangerous powerhouse.

These are factors that in my opinion will for sure come into play if either of these teams make the World Series. I hope you have a great time watching the home stretch of these playoffs. MAY THE BEST TEAM WIN!
