It’s official.  The United States will NOT be in the 2018 World Cup in Russia.  Nobody can believe it. The USA lost to Trinidad and Tobago in a horrible loss this week knocking them out.  The US only had a 3% chance of not qualifying.  And sadly it happened.  Here’s the situation.

This is the first time since 1986 that Team USA did not qualify to play in the World Cup.  It was a horrible first half for team USA with T&T scoring 2 goals.  Then the US scored 2 minutes in to the second half but their luck ran out there.  How was this possible?  How could a team that played so well on Friday play so badly only a few days later?  Most of the news reports say that team USA had a bad attitude and just assumed they were gonna win.  They complained that the field was too wet but then it was wet for the other team too.  Don’t make excuses.

They had a chance and all they had to do was tie against T&T which was the worst team in the six-team tournament.  They couldn’t even do that.  It’s a real bummer because now we have to wait 4 more years to see Team USA have a chance at The World Cup again.  I’ll be 13 years old by then and finishing up middle school.  Hopefully I will get to write a much different article about our team.  #4moreyears #2022
