The NBA Summer League just ended and some of the rookies looked really great. Since I collect sports trading cards, now I know exactly whose cards I need to get. Here are the top 5 NBA rookie cards I’m looking for now.

  1. Lonzo Ball. Ball was picked second in the draft by the Lakers. In the summer league he averaged 16 points, 9 assists, and 8 rebounds. That’s almost a triple double! He’s gonna be great when the season starts.
  2. Jayson Tatum. Tatum was picked number 3 and he’s a rookie on the Celtics. In summer league he averaged 18 points and 9 rebounds. He had the sickest dunk against the Sixers! Looks like he’ll be amazing this year.
  3. Donavon Mitchell. Mitchell was picked 13th in the draft and he’s a rookie on the Utah Jazz. In summer league he scored an average of 20 points a game. He even had a game against the Trailblazers where he scored 38 points. That’s amazing for a rookie!
  4. Dennis Smith Jr. He was picked 9th in the draft and is playing on the Dallas Mavericks. In summer league he averaged 17 points and he has a 48 inch vertical – that means he can jump 4 feet high which means he can do nasty dunks!
  5. Josh Jackson: he was picked 4th in the draft and is heading to the Suns. In summer league he averaged 17 points and 9 rebounds and he’s a great defensive player. His card will definitely be a hot card to get!

Maybe my dad will pay me to wash his car so I can buy these cards on Amazon or EBay. Otherwise I’m gonna have to get a job because I really want these cards!
