With both the NBA finals and the Stanley Cup winding down, and football season still a long three months away, I am getting a little sad. The only thing better than actually playing and talking sports is watching sports. I’m not really a big baseball fan and with all the other major American professional sports slowing down, what can we look forward to this summer?

1.The FIFA World Cup. The World Cup is a soccer event that is held in Europe. 32 teams participate and the cup can go on for over a month! The World Cup is the most watched sporting event in the world, with over 700 million people watching the final match. Unfortunately, The World Cup is only held every four years, so we have to wait until 2018 for the next one. Don’t worry though, if you are dying to watch some soccer, you can catch the FIFA Confederations Cup at the end of June. The Confederations Cup is held in the country that is hosting the next year’s World Cup and is considered to be like a rehearsal for the World Cup.

2.Wimbledon. Wimbledon is the world’s oldest tennis tournament. The tournament is held in London and is played on grass courts. The tournament lasts for two weeks and starts this year in early July.

3. Tour de France. The Tour de France is a bike race held in France that lasts for twenty three days and covers about 2200 miles. About 20 teams compete in the Tour de France with nine riders on each team.

If none of these sound good to you there is always plenty of golf on TV or even some NASCAR racing or cricket to watch. All of these events sound ok to me but the truth is that I’m counting the days (93 to be exact) until football season starts!
