GET READY BLEACHER BOY FANS! This week’s Athlete of the Week goes to…

Farah Lipetz!! Farah is a 12-year-old Elite Gymnast. Her mom knew she needed to sign her up for the sport when at 4 years old Farah could not stop doing cartwheels around the house. These days, Farah goes to a professional school called Ivy League so she can train for 20-30 hours a week. Now that is dedication!

Farah is in USAG (United States of America Gymnastics) LEVEL 10 and competes on the Elite level. The Elite Program is made up of regional and national training programs and competitions made for athletes who want to be on the US teams that compete internationally. She trains at Infiniti Elite Gymnastics on long Island under Coach Tammy Marshall. Farah’s favorite skills to perform are bar releases and floor, and she just won 1st place in her region, 1st place at the World Maccabi Qualifier, and 1st place all around at her Elite Qualifier. Winning 1st place in the region is really a big deal. Even at her age, this means Farah has caught the attention of college coaches around the country.

Farah is very close with her teammates who have been training together for six years. Gymnastics has taken Farah all over our country and the world. She looks up to Olympic Gold Medalist, Aly Raisman. Maybe one day we will watch Farah compete in the Olympics too! Congratulations Farah and welcome to the huddle!
