GET READY BLEACHER BOYS FANS! This weeks athlete of the week goes to…

Xander Kucich and James Brady! Thats right…this week we have a twofer! This dynamic duo are 9 year old step-brothers in 3rd grade at Viola Sickles School in Fair Haven NJ.

Xander and James are obsessed with all things sports. For the last two years they have played together on all of their teams; soccer, basketball, baseball and flag football. The boys currently play on three travel teams. They just wrapped up their inaugural basketball season with the Fair Haven Knights where they took runner up in the county tournament. Basketball ended just in time for their Fair Haven White Diamonds baseball season opener last weekend against Cheesequake. Xander and James each pitched two innings and won the game 9-7 with a game ending triple play! If thats not enough, you can catch these sporty brothers in their first spring soccer game this weekend, playing for the Monmouth United Soccer Club.

Living together, and with fellow sports loving little brothers Asher (7) and Gage (5) means that there is always opportunity to practice and improve. On weekends and after school the front yard and driveway are the spots for impromptu neighborhood baseball, soccer, or basketball pickup games. When the boys are not playing sports they are reading about sports, watching sports on TV or playing sports video games.

These brothers really are two peas in a pod. However there is one disagreement in the house and that is which team to root for. Xander, who was born in NYC, loves The Yankees and The Giants while James, whose Dad hails from Ohio, is a fan of The Indians and The Browns. The boys find common ground with basketball, however, as both are avid Cleveland Cavaliers fans. Xander is crazy for Kyrie Irving while James prefers LeBron James.

Congratulations Xander and James! The Bleacher Boys agree you definitely deserve to be Athlete(s) of the Week! Congratulations and welcome to the huddle!
