5th best

If you put 13 dedicated girls and 3 super coaches together you will get a Championship win. And thats exactly what happened to the 5th grade girls Tenafly Travel Basketball team this year!!

After not making the playoffs in 2016, the team came charging back in 2017 and went undefeated and sealed their championship title this week. Their head coach, Ben Darche, said that this was a truly dedicated team that bonded on and off the court. He said they worked hard in their weekly practice and also in a weekly CMEK skills session. They came prepared and positive every week for their game and it payed off.

Their final game was against Cliffside Park who they knew would be a big threat. All the girls played in the game and hustled till the end. The Tenafly Tigers came out on top with a final score of 27 to 16 and claimed the Bergen County Championship title.

The team has a well-deserved blowout celebration in the works and a lot to be proud of. Coach Darche said the community support was amazing this year and that his team was all about DEDICATION, HEART and HAVING FUN. Sounds like a recipe for success to me! Congratulations to the entire team and The Bleacher Boys wish you continued success next year! Go Tigers!!
