Next week is the Super Bowl and even though the Jets never make it to the big game, I love to watch anyway. That’s because the Super Bowl is usually a really exciting matchup.  So here are some cool facts I found out about the Super Bowl to get you ready for the Patriots vs. Falcons next Sunday.

  1. The highest scoring Super Bowl ever was in 1995 when The San Francisco 49ers beat the Denver Broncos 49-26.
  2. The lowest scoring Super Bowl ever was in 1973, when the Miami Dolphins beat the Washington Redskins 14-7.
  3. The team that has made it to Super Bowl the most times is the New England Patriots. This is their ninth time making it to the big game, and they have won 4 times.
  4. The coldest Super Bowl ever was at Tulane Stadium in 1972, when the Dallas Cowboys played the Miami Dolphins. The temperature at kickoff was 39 degrees with a wind chill of 24 degrees.
  5. The Hottest Super Bowl ever is a tie between 1973 in Los Angeles and 2003 in San Diego. Both games had a high temperature of 82 degrees
  6. Only Four teams have never made it to Super Bowl: The Cleveland Browns, the Detroit Lions, the Houston Texans and the Jacksonville Jaguars. At least the Jets stayed off that list.
  7. The most watched Super Bowl ever was last year in 2015. The game averaged 111.9 million TV viewers.

So have fun watching the Super Bowl. I’ll be rooting for the Falcons. As my dad likes to say, my two favorite teams are the Jets and whoever is playing the Patriots.
