WHY COLLEGE GAMES ARE BETTER THAN NFL GAMES

I just came back from the University of Michigan where the Wolverines football team crushed Penn State 49-10. Today, there’s a full day of NFL games to watch. Some people think NFL games are more exciting because the players are the biggest and the best, but I think college football games are better! Here’ why: First, college football fans have so much school spirit. Everyone at the Michigan game was covered in yellow and blue and everyone felt like part of the team. Second: there’s a great marching band that comes out before the game and during the game and they get the whole crowd really pumped up. Third, the student section is so loud and you can tell they really love their team. Finally, college teams have their own song. Ours is “Hail to the Victors” and the whole crowd claps and sings along. You don’t get that at professional games. So even though I love the NY Jets, I’d choose a Michigan Wolverines football game anytime!

Totally agree – but Michigan has the best fans and the most loyal followers of any school. Go Blue. Great game. Great article.

Interesting thoughts! I write for the SB Nation website covering the University of Maryland athletics and I happen to agree…college sports are the best! As a Giants fan and a fantasy football manager, I love to sit down and watch NFL games. However, there is nothing like going to a college football game. Like you said, the fans go crazy, the players play their hearts out, and everyone feels involved in the game because everyone is wearing the school colors.

    Great opinion and great website!
